I recently purchased the SLR GX0, but immediately replaced the cassette—which is for flatlanders. The 42-tooth big gear was no good on steep local hills, so I upgraded to the 46-tooth gear. I like everything else about the bike.

If I’m reading the specs right, then I’m disappointed to see the GX hubs move down to 28h from 32h. As a larger guy, that’s taking the “tough” out of “toughroad” for me.

not sure on the carbon forks, I’m sure they’ve been tested but…….

In my opinion Specialized is years ahead in terms of touring bikes. Nonetheless, Gant’s having a bad taste for design.
