I’ll also be testing the non-padded approach using SmartWool 150 gsm merino wool boxer briefs designed for sports with flat-lock stitching and a wide waist band etc.

I have a Brooks Imperial B17 saddle that is well broken in and super comfortable, so I often find it much more comfortable without padding than with. However I am talking about 20-30km rides here. No idea how happy my backside will be after 80km on the saddle without any special padding.. I’ll find out soon enough though!
