Monkey D. Luffy's (Iñaki Godoy) journey to the Grand Line has only just begun, and we're patiently waiting for him and the live-action versions of the Straw Hats to return and continue their adventure.

Filming for Netflix's live-action One Piece Season 2 began in 2024. The first season featured plenty of characters from Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga. And, based on the announcements made so far, Season 2's cast promises to be bigger and better.

The first season adapted most of the manga's East Blue Saga up to the Arlong Park arc, which can only mean one thing: Loguetown arc is next! The Netflix series' season finale teased Marine vice admiral Smoker, so we're anticipating Season 2 to pick up with this antagonist.

Netflix's One Piece stars Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Here's everything we know so far about Netflix's One Piece Season 2.

Netflix's One Piece latest news

The cast for Netflix's One Piece Season 2 continues to grow. The streamer announced in January new actors set to appear in the upcoming installment. Find out below who they will each be playing.

Netflix's One Piece Season 2 cast

Netflix's One Piece kicked off 2025 with another new casting announcement. On Jan. 14, the streamer introduced three "masters of chaos" joining Season 2. They are Miss Goldenweek, played by Sophia Anne Caruso, Chess, played by Mark Penwill, and K.M, played by Anton David Jephtha. A day later, the streamer announced three more new stars. Rigo Sanchez is set to play Dragon, Yonda Thomas will play Igaram, and James Hiroyuki Liao will play Ipponmatsu.

At Geeked Week Live 2024, Netflix announced two stars joining One Piece Season 2. The first is Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, also known as Crocodile. The next is Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, also known as Nico Robin.

Bridgerton's Charithra Chandran is joining Netflix's One Piece as Vivi, also known as Miss Wednesday. The streamer announced this casting on Aug. 23, 2024. Many are familiar with Chandran from her performance as Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2. Now, she's taking on the fan-favorite character Vivi, who is a key figure in the Reverse Mountain arc.

Netflix announced other new cast members in the same week: Katey Sagal is set to play Dr. Kureha, and Mark Harelik will play Dr. Hiriluk. Nefertari Cobra, who is Vivi's father, will be played by Sendhil Ramamurthy.

Also joining the cast are Daniel Lasker, who will play Mr. 9; Camrus Johnson, who will play Mr. 5; David Dastmalchian, who will play Mr. 3; and Jazzara Jaslyn, who will play Miss Valentine.

And there's more: Clive Russell is set to play Crocus, Werner Coetser is set to play Dorry, and Brendan Murray is set to play Brogy.

Season 1's ending teased the character Smoker. On June 27, 2024, Netflix announced the actor who will be playing him: Callum Kerr. The streamer also said that Julia Rehwald will play Tashigi, Rob Colletti will play Wapol, and Ty Keogh will play Dalton.

And based on the announcement on July 1 regarding the beginning of production on Season 2, we know that our five leads will all return. The new season stars Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Additional cast members from Season 1 who are coming back in Season 2 include Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.

Netflix's One Piece Season 2 release date

Production for Netflix's One Piece Season 2 started in July 2024. The streamer released a video of the Straw Hats reuniting in Cape Town as they began filming. Netflix has not shared whether One Piece is returning in 2025 or in a later year.

Which arcs will One Piece Season 2 adapt?

Oda shared an update on Aug. 20, 2024 that includes which arcs from the manga Season 2 will adapt. "The story will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island!" he said in a letter posted on One Piece's official account. "Imagine how much it'll cost! Lol."

One Piece Season 2 renewal

On Sept. 14, 2023, Netflix shared a video of One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda announcing Season 2's renewal. Remember, his heavy involvement in Season 1 was a huge reason why the adaptation was such a hit. In true One Piece fashion, the news was delivered through a Transponder Snail. "Two weeks after the launch, I just received some great news," Oda said. "Netflix has decided to renew the show! The adventures of Iñaki and the live-action Straw Hats will continue onward!"
